Golden Gate Bridge Under Construction, San Francisco, CaliforniaHistoric 1930s Photo
There are hundreds and hundreds of photos in the SF Public Library archive showing the Golden Gate (as well as the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge) under construction. Banjo and dog.
“…The advance of the banjo began when it was taken up by the ladies. One famous Boston banjoist, Caroline Nichols, said: ‘What makes me boil to the roots of my hair is that we play like girls. We do not! We play like musicians! There is no sex in music…’ And by the ladies the banjo was introduced into the home circle.” via @sugarfreak
