A link to an article about The University of Colorado's decision to discontinue their school of journalism

Hmm.

This is really interesting.  While I completely understand their point of view, I find it unnecessary and quite frankly a step in the complete wrong direction.  The industry is changing rapidly and the school of journalism at CU claims that it is time to change with the industry, yet from the way that I see it, that would mean that every year some large issue within the school will have to be revised because, lets face it, technology is changing and digital/multimedia is becoming more prominent. Being trained to work in a multimedia market is essential in today’s industry, and maybe they are taking the right step in making changes, but I think that maybe the overall execution of it is not in the best interest of everyone, especially the students.  All I can say about this is that at this time, I am extremely thankful to be at Colorado State University and not at CU-Boulder.
